Bio

Jim Jubelirer is an experienced business manager and expert in consumer behavior, sustainability, training, and organizational development.  He loves to solve complex business problems by creating win-win relationships and developing profitable products and services.  He is a strategic thinker and negotiator, with a proven track-record of business development, leadership, and creativity.

In 2008, Jim  helped start  Curious Sense, a digital product development studio that partners with entertainment companies, rock bands, TV and Broadway shows, and book publishers.  In 2010, Jim helped the founder with early-stage growth strategies by serving as Chief Operating Officer responsible for business development, strategic planning, finance and administration for the company.

Prior to Curious Sense, Jim was Vice President at Harris Interactive (the folks who do the Harris Poll) in the Loyalty Center of Excellence.  Jim was instrumental in shaping the direction of Harris’ new Green Center of Excellence, specializing in market research that measures demand for sustainable products and services.

Jim was also Vice President at Burke, Inc., one of the premier international research and consulting firms that helps companies understand and accurately predict marketplace behavior. Jim delivered over $1M in revenue at a high margin for 14 consecutive years.  Jim coordinated the work of global teams, worked closely with General Electric in the development of their Six Sigma quality program, and created analytical models that demonstrated the linkage between customer satisfaction and profitability.

Jim speaks to a wide variety of audiences about service quality, customer loyalty, and opportunities for transitioning to a green economy.  He recently presented to audiences as diverse as the Cornell Entrepreneur Network and Sustainable Brands ’09. He has designed custom training programs for in-house delivery, and has delivered speeches, conference presentations and/or executive seminars to thousands of people from more than 40 countries.

Earlier in his career, Jim was a Product Manager at Digital Equipment Corporation and served as Senior Consultant at Strat*X International, designing and delivering executive education programs. He was responsible for a major contract to deliver marketing courses for GE Management Education at Crotonville, NY.

Jim is active in a variety of non-profit and philanthropic endeavors.  He led the first-ever million dollar capital campaign at the Emerson Waldorf School and was on the campaign committee for the Duke School’s recent capital campaign.  He is also an active member of Environmental Grantmakers Association (EGA).  He was an accredited member of the EGA delegation to the Copenhagen Climate Change talks in 2009.

Jim received his bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Santa Cruz and an M.B.A. from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University.
